Questions to ask your insurance company

Dr. Kelly Fitzpatrick, at Sacred Medicine Clinic, no longer is billing insurance companies directly toward fees for naturopathic medical services. After having worked with the insurance companies for decades as a practitioner, it is no longer feasible for Dr Kelly to contract with insurance companies as a means of being paid for the comprehensive naturopathic services that are provided to each client here at Sacred Medicine Clinic.

Neither the insurance companies nor the system that is required to support them are providing rates of reimbursement to adequately compensate for the time and expertise that clients receive for their naturopathic services here at Sacred Medicine Clinic.  In addition, the cost and the time to submit and process claims offset the reimbursed rates to reflect an even greater reduction in fees for service.

We are committed to continue to provide you the excellent care and personal attention that you have become accustomed to receive in each visit and interaction at Sacred Medicine Clinic. Dr. Kelly Fitzpatrick will no longer be contracted with any insurance companies other than Trillium.  Full payment for all charges will be required at the time of service.  If you have insurance coverage and wish to submit your provider a bill requesting reimbursement for services received at Sacred Medicine Clinic, please ask for a claim from the office staff after each visit, with dates of service and appropriate CPT and ICD10 codes.

Questions for your insurance company.  You may want to ask your insurance company the following questions before your visit at the beginning of each year.  Acquiring accurate information from your health insurance company will give you a much clearer idea as to your actual coverage.  Do realize that even if your insurance company says you are covered, it is possible you will still owe fees.

  6. If there are labs ordered by Dr Kelly for uninsured and our of network clients, please call the lab for the cost break-down or have these labs ordered by your PCP.  We do not have the office staff to check on lab fees.
